Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge a sitting fee?

Actually, that is the only thing I charge. I will take your portrait pictures and deliver you the digital negatives. From then on, you can do anything you want with them excluding commercial use, unless otherwise agreed. You can e-mail them to your family, post them on your personal website or order prints on your own.

Are prints really free?

Yes and no. I offer professional printing of your pictures at competitive pricing and I guarantee your results. I have teamed up with the best photo labs to bring you results that you will be very happy with. However, you are not obligated to order prints from me. You can take the digital files and have them processed at the photo lab of your choice.

Where do you take portrait shots?

I specialize in on-site portraiture. I can provide the studio look at your place of choice or shoot a candid photo session full of action. I shoot portraits outdoors or indoors with my mobile studio equipment. I can suggest locations for your session but I am always open to your input, these are going to be your memories after all.

What should I wear to my session?

It is totally up to you. I recommend muted colors so the focus can be on you and not on your outfit. You might want to bring several outfits to your shoot and change things up as we go to see what works best for you. For family portraits I recommend similar outfits, formal or casual, for a uniform look. I strongly advise that the pants you wear are the long variety!

How long does a session last?

I value your time. For corporate head shots I try to get our "keeper" within a 30 minute window including setup and break down. Portrait sessions are minimum of one hour and this is generally ample time to capture plenty of great poses.

When is the best time to shoot our session?

With indoor session it does not matter. If there is attractive ambient lighting I will work with it and incorporate it into the composition. With outdoor portrait sessions it best to have them scheduled before 10:00AM or after 3:00PM to avoid the mid day sun. Dusk and dawn also are great time to shoot unique portraits.

When is the best time to shoot our real estate session?

The perfect real estate photography time will depend on the orientation of the building. For buildings facing east and north an early morning session would work best to catch the front of the subject in full sun. South and west facing buildings look their best in the afternoon. With my unique technique for indoor shooting I can provide you with perfect results any time during the day.

Is there anything I need to pay attention to prior shooting the house?

Make sure the house is clean, decorated, the beds are made and all light fixtures are fully operational and on. When I show up I am ready to go. The house must be in picture perfect condition prior my arrival, just as you would like it to be photographed.

Are there special requirements for VR panoramas?

The only thing you have to remember that these pictures will show everything; the entire 360 degree view from a particular point. If you can see that something is not the way you would like it to be when you do a complete turnaround, so will the camera and your customers. We can shoot limited field of view panoramas but you will get the best experience from full 360 by 180 degree virtual tours.
